Rebecca Fenner, OTR/L

Rebecca is a registered Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), licensed in the state of Florida and certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. She is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as the Florida Pediatric Alliance. In 2001, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She relocated to Central Florida to begin her career as a school-based OT for Orange County Public School System where she remained for 1.5 years before accepting a position with UCP of Central Florida. She went on to become Therapy Team Leader of the OT, PT and ST therapy departments at UCP. After 4 years with UCP, she accepted a position as the Director of OT for Whole-Sum Therapies. In 2010, she incorporated Tried-N-True Occupational Therapy, INC, and began building her pediatric practice in Central Florida.

Rebecca has worked with developmentally delayed children and adults throughout the lifespan with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, prematurity, ADHD, genetic syndromes, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, and CVA among others. She specializes in early intervention (birth to 3) and has a passion for all areas of functional development.

She has completed a variety of continuing education courses and is experienced with direct clinical intervention in the areas of Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Neurodevelopmental Techniques, Sensory Integration, visual/ocular motor skills, feeding therapy, sensory vs. behavior treatment techniques, Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Listening, Pediatric Yoga Techniques, Brain Gym, and assistive technology.

She has served as a consultant at Intermediate Care Facilities (facilities/group homes for medically fragile and developmentally delayed adults) and has lectured on the topics of insurance documentation and owning/managing a private practice therapy clinic to students pursuing their Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Florida Adventist University.

Rebecca’s commitment to delivering the highest quality of care is evidenced by the number of patients referred to her by families, physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare providers. Her energy and enthusiasm are reflected in positive treatment outcomes.

On a personal level, Rebecca loves spending time with her family and caring for her young children. She practices yoga and enjoys running.
